Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, FL (October 24, 2003)- The New Light Studio

The exhibition
will include new paintings by resident artists Wendy White and Roland
Ruocco. The show will also feature artworks from noted New York
curator and artist, Vee and Brazilian born, passionate figurative
artist, Hegina Rodrigues and Boca Raton impressionist, Terry Rabinor
along with pieces submitted by art students who participate in the
New Light Studio's weekly art classes.
In addition
there will be a presentation of original oil paintings created by
the children from the Kids in Distress organization who take part
in weekly art workshops provided exclusively by the New Light Foundation.
Proceeds of any artworks offered for sale by the young artists will
be donated directly to the Kids in Distress organization.
Wendy White
will show her latest creations in her "Abstract Impressionism"
style. In her newest oil on canvases, she incorporates the passion
of the modern day expressionists by utilizing the techniques of
the old masters, to "paint the light." White's atmospheric
oil paintings reflect rhythmic waves of light resulting in an outburst
of an infinite amount of colors on her paintings.
Roland Ruocco's
latest works in the "South Florida School of Art" theme
employ his vision of tropical landscape interpretation. "These
paintings are about aspects of light, and sky, which I feel are
the most compelling aspects of our natural landscape - the subtle
yet awesome effects of light on the color and form of palms and
ocean to form a tapestry that is simultaneously serene and dynamic."
He will also
have additional pieces in his "Modern Times" series, a
collection punctuated with social and political commentary. Ruocco
uses a variety of painting styles in mixed media that include graffiti
elements. These works depict fear, complacency, omnipotence and
the need for peace, love and brotherhood.
The New Light
Gallery donates a percentage of its art sales to its scholarship
fund and New Light Foundation to promote the arts and community
outreach. Wendy White and Roland Ruocco have a following in New
York and Europe, they are in their second year in their working
art studio and gallery in South Florida.
